Veteran Adjusting school (VAS) is a licensed post-secondary vocational school specifically designed to train insurance adjusters. VAS is the first and only Catastrophe training course licensed by the Arizona post-secondary board of education #V1531. We are also the only insurance adjuster vocational school, in the country, approved by the VA to accept GI Bill® educational benefits. Per VA regulations VAS not only trains veterans but any qualified individual who meets enrollment requirements. Vet and non-Vet alike. We bring them to an intensive six week course at our training facility in Northern Arizona which applies an experiential component to their training. We then mentor them through their first deployment to make sure they have received the best training offered by any company currently in the market. Our six week, “VAS-Trained Insurance Adjuster Program” gives the student a complete education as they enter into the adjusting business, not a cursory view, as other training facilities may offer. We provide our students will all the equipment they need to succeed as adjusters including; a computer, adjusting tools, full year subscription to Xactimate. Upon graduation all VAS-Trained Adjusters are Xactimate Level 2 certified and have written over 40 complete estimates. Our statistics speak for themselves: We have a 100% graduation rate, a 96% job placement rate and on average, a 32 days from graduation to first closed claim rate.

ABOUT GARY PITTS

My career as an insurance adjuster began in 1994 with the Northridge Earthquake in California. Having had commercial construction experience prior to the earthquake, my entry into CAT adjusting was a perfect match for my experience. Since 1994 I have excelled as an adjuster, a trainer and a field manager on most of the large catastrophes. By using my extensive experience, knowledge and business background I am honored to be the co-founder of Veteran Adjusting School (VAS). We started VAS because we saw the need to help our returning veterans find gainful employment in the insurance adjusting industry. We also knew that non-veterans willing to put the time and commitment into becoming adjusters are always welcomed in our industry.
