Volunteer role with the Granary Foundation, to invest and steward the $6.5 million endowment fund of the Center for Rural Affairs to support its mission: Establishing strong rural communities, social and economic justice, environmental stewardship, and genuine opportunity for all while engaging people in decisions that affect the quality of their lives and the future of their communities. For more than 40 years, the Center has generated positive regional and national impacts with leadership, research and advocacy on family farming, sustainable agriculture, rural economic development and state and federal policies impacting rural communities. From I helped prepare and launch the Granary campaign to build an endowment, The Granary Foundation pursues socially conscious investment strategies and is a signatory to Divest-Invest Philanthropy, encouraging nonprofits\' divestment from fossil fuels. In 2011 I was honored to join the Granary\'s Board of Directors.
