ABOUT GARY MCPHAIL
I advise both businesses and individual clients on a wide range of dispute resolution matters including contentious executry, debt recovery, contract disputes, consumer rights, insolvency, and criminal defence.Having been recognised for my client-focused approach, I work closely with clients to understand their concerns and address them with practical, efficient solutions. With a particular passion for advocacy, I am dedicated to providing clear, confident representation for clients and regularly appear in Sheriff Courts across Scotland.I am committed to supporting the next generation of lawyers. In 2025, he was invited by the Law Society of Scotland to join their Young Leaders Panel, reflecting his ongoing commitment to widening access within the profession. In 2026, I was invited to be a founding member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Social Mobility Forum. I also tutor on the Mock Court Project and regularly speak at college/university events. I am a member of the Contentious Trusts Association, a network of specialist contentious executry lawyers. In May 2026, I was appointed to the Law Society of Scotland’s Contract and Delict Sub-Committee, through which I meet regularly with stakeholders and respond to consultations and legislation on a wide range obligation law issues.
