About Gary McGregor
As a proven leader in Research & Development, Product Management, and Engineering, I am passionate about developing and managing products that unlock new opportunities and meet the evolving needs of businesses in diverse industries. Additionally, I am committed to mentoring and developing talent professionals while promoting collaboration and synergies across multiple divisions and teams. I am currently serving as VP of Operations and Principal Mechanical Engineer at TMAC Technologies, specializing in heavy industrial and engineering solutions that meet the needs of clients in various industries. I lead teams in R&D and troubleshooting efforts to overcome the greatest challenges of industrial maintenance via game-changing solutions to machine development and more. Prior to joining TMAC, I worked as a Research Scientist at The University of Texas at Austin for several years, leading multiple R&D projects to develop patented technologies related to medical devices and industrial machinery. I also added value to the university by building laboratory and testing equipment that replaced obsolete equipment and repurposed parts for new machinery. Among my other achievements, I developed hybrid 3D printed technologies for the manufacturing of complex devices, supporting R&D work in emergency medical care, OR systems, post-surgical patient support systems, safety systems, and dentistry/military operations. Earlier in my career, I served as Plant Mechanical Engineer, Project Manager, and Global Simulation Expert Lead for Gerdau Midlothian. During my time there, I directed a multimillion-dollar capital improvement project for the melt-shop while also leading the adoption of an innovative transient CFD model and various mechanical, electromechanical, and fluid devices. I also devised multiple cost-reduction measures that resulted in millions of dollars of savings. My other career achievements include helping launch a medical device company and co-developing a patented abscess drainage tool used in various lines of healthcare. I also proved instrumental in developing a first-generation enhanced needle drive prototype for Medical Innovations Lab and Seton Hospital and created a cutting-edge multiphysics Dental Simulation for Proctor & Gamble. I am on LinkedIn to expand my professional network. Let\'s Connect!
