About Gary Marx

I am a savvy CEO with a 40 year history in the packaging industry, and a track record for growing sales. My business acumen includes operations, strategic planning, and family dynamics. I excel in creating value, M&A, team building, and talent management. I am often called “the fixer.”Piedmont National Corporation is one of Atlanta’s 50 largest private companies. Under my leadership the company has experienced tremendous growth, from one location to eighteen currently. Founded in 1950, Piedmont is one of the country’s largest independent packaging distributors. I currently sit on the development committee of Camp Twin Lakes, chair the Business and Professional division for Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, serve on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and recently joined the Kennesaw State University Family Enterprise Center advisory board. For the past six years I’ve served as a student mentor for the Georgia College State University GEM program, participate in the Salvation Army Angle tree program, and occasionally serve dinner at the Zaban Paradies center for homeless families.
