With C&S Engineers, I am a Senior Construction Inspector for Region 3 for NY State DOT for Signal Upgrades and Regional Bridge Coatings Project for 5-Bridges in Cortland County, New York. My current assignments with the NYS DOT are to inspect all work done by the contractor for quality and conformance to the plans and intent of the plans and specifications, making sure all safety factors are in place and the contractor gets paid for all contracted work completed. My work also includes making recommendations for field conditions that plans and specs do not cover.My responsibilities for the bridge coatings inspections include: Monitoring Work Zone Traffic Control measures; that the containment is built properly and safely, that the workers at all times wear all required safety gear and continuously maintain all safety measures for themselves and the general public; that when blasting off the old paint, that no contaminated dust leaks out from the containment; to inspected each step of the operations for quality and completeness, and when a work item is complete, pay the contractor for work completed.
