About Gary Loflin

After spending more than 30 years in Public Safety, I am passionate about improving the Public Safety Answering Point. As a Telecommunicator in the 80’s, I can still remember the struggles we had simply connecting with our citizens and keeping track of our emergency responders. As my career progressed, I became determined to make a difference in how our 9-1-1 center used technology and improve our response times. When I retired, as Director of Public Safety Communications, I became more determined than ever to continue to make a difference in Public Safety. 9-1-1 is how our citizens reach out for help, and PSAP’s shouldn’t be hampered with inadequate technology as they try to achieve their mission. Now with the implementation of Next Generation 9-1-1, we have the opportunity to bridge the gap between inefficiencies and true innovation that can make a difference to keep our responders and our communities safe.
