Gary founded Fine & Country Inns in 2014. He had spent over two decades in the late-night leisure industry creating and operating award-winning venues across the North of England en-route being awarded UK leisure operator of the year. Following his extensive experience in licensed leisure he took a strategic decision to move out of city centres and develop a new group consisting of high-quality country inns.Since opening his first venue The Strafford Arms Gary has opened 16 additional venues throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Greater Manchester. The Fine & Country Inns Group now employs over 170 staff and has a projected annual turnover in excess of £7M.One of Gary’s recent acquisitions is the multi award-winning boutique hotel and Michelin Plated restaurant Brocco on the Park in Sheffield. Since acquiring in early 2021 Brocco has been awarded the Best Hotel Restaurant in the Sheffield and District area which is a great example of the great standards Fine & Country Inns deliver.With the great success of Brocco Hotel, Fine and Country Inns are now keen to expand into the hotel/stay and dine sector and in line with this they have just agreed a deal to takeover a large venue in North Yorkshire which has a very high standard of restaurant and accommodation facilities. The group is looking to expand substantially over the next 12 months acquiring both leasehold and freehold businesses. In line with this, they are looking for highly motivated and dedicated management personnel to join the existing team. Gary is also currently investing further into his Corporate Hospitality consultancy business to expand another arm of the Group. This will extend the diversity of Group operations and open up further opportunities to develop industry growth on the next exciting stage of The Fine and Country Inns journey.
