As a Project Manager I have taken responsibility for the Battery Locomotive Overhaul Project. I am now responsible for the re-alignment and delivery of this Overhaul Project with the creation of newly adjusted milestone dates, in line with a new budget. My role encompasses the planning, management, and implementation of this project, to include the creation and sign-off for the scope of works: project budget, resources, schedule, quality & assurance products, deliverables, procurement, and compliance requirements.Further aspects to my role include Integration of planning activities, evaluate, and deliver project benefits and value. Address internal and external business environment changes, support organizational change, by employing continuous process improvement, execute project to delivery business value. Address and remove impediments, obstacles, and blockers. Establish project governance structure, plan and manage project phases to closure. Assess and manage risks, manage communications by engaging with stakeholders while creating Project Artifacts. Managing project changes and issues, ensuring knowledge transfer for project continuity. I created the specialist Project team, from engineers and technical authors through to mechanical and electrical technicians. Defining team ground rules and negotiating project agreements, by empowering team members and stakeholders while engaging and supporting virtual teams. By building a shared understanding about the project, supporting team performance, managing conflict, collaborating, and mentoring of relevant stakeholders by applying emotional intelligence to promote team performance.

I am a master’s qualified in Engineering Management, vastly experienced Project/Production Manager CMgr, with previous experience as a Rolling Stock Test Engineer IEng, in mechanical/electrical and electronic train systems, such as (TBTC) Transmission Based Traction Control,(CBTC) Communication Based Traction Control, with extensive train door systems experience. I have demonstrable senior management/leadership experience in the delivery of large train overhaul/modification and new train introduction projects. I have extensive experience working in a lean production environment, incorporating a proven ability in managing people and processes. Responsibilities have ranged from day to day in railway depot operations, to include Incorporating stakeholder management and workload planning. I have proven skills in the ability to work with management and staff at all levels, effectively building on-site teams rendering overhaul/modification and new train delivery projects viable, on time and within budget restraints. Key knowledge of setting up projects, managing and training team members, whilst encompassing all aspects of safety, testing and processes. A people manager, who aspires to a demanding management role looking to progress my career within a new company by developing within an entrusted position of influence, responsibility, and leadership.Key Achievements: Implemented a first in class fitment for 2 types of loco at the same time by utilising the workshop space efficiently. I coordinated 2 teams of mechanical and electrical technicians for the installation and this saved the region £440K in labour charges and completed the project 6 months earlier than expected. Took over a failing project in a highly demanding environment and successfully achieved the target deadline. Accomplished by working closely with design consultants’ suppliers and creating a new team for the project. I ensured expectations were understood, refocused and motivated the team. The project was so successful that new contracts were secured following this. Currently generating a program of works that will improve the MTBF reliability of locomotives by 12%.
