   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform design work on broadband networks (copper and fiber) and oversees estimates of outside plant costs. Also understands unique design criteria and can utilize the best network design for a given situation.Schedule and conduct meetings with the Owner to review contracts, perform pre-bid meetings and bid openings, pre-construction meetings and final rides on a regular basis.Coordinate information between Resident Engineer and/or client of the on-going status of a project and providing adequateadvice, and support to the members of the project team.Coordinate/Communicate with FEC staff including but not limited to the Staking and Mapping Supervisor to ensure projectdocuments such as unit tabulations, permits, progress reports, etc. are accurate and complete and to avoid or eliminate conflicts in schedule due to the changes in various projects.Provide technical advice and contribute to the development of recommendations for assigned projects and others, when requested.Maintain project status and keep the project status reporting system (database) current with the actions and changes that take place on assigned projects so the overall organization is able to respond to client requests. This will require onsite visits from time to time.Maximize project profitability through appropriate project budgeting/pricing, utilization of resources and cost controls, maximize the profit margin on individual projects.Assist Vice President or Operations Manager in the hiring and development of project staff through identification of the strengths and areas needing improvement.Manage the ACAD/GIS, Right of Way/Permitting, and Outside Plant Departments including all manpower and equipment resource management.Attend and participate in industry shows.
