Gary joined the business in 2014 and grew the team to 130 persons including establishing a global design centre in Bangalore. Gary leads the UK based electrification & plant, and mechanical & Electrical engineering team supporting the global rail business. Well versed in Railways system engineering and adopts a systems engineering approach to all bids and projects. For bids Gary can act in both a technical and managerial capacity at a senior level. Gary also agrees staffing nationally and facilitates work sharing within the E&P teams. Experienced in the Rail Sector involving the Mobilisation and Project Delivery of Electrification Projects and has acted as a Project Manager for Electrical Distribution Projects including d.c. traction Power Systems and High Voltage Distribution systems. As professional head Gary is responsible for the technical competence of the Electrification and power teams in the UK, Europe and the global design team in India. This responsibility includes annual competency assessments including arrangements for training and mentoring, standards briefing and cascade. Gary is also the owner of AECOM UK’s training and development for electrical and mechanical engineers. He is also the account holder for AECOMs corporate membership with the IET and is a registered mentor with the IET for engineers wishing to gain professional accreditation, to date Gary has mentored 14 engineers to CEng.
