In my current role, I have driven the implementation of metrics through perception surveys to foster a self-improvement culture across the engineering department. I have worked with the Director to improve the developer progression framework, to identify, challenge and discuss promotions and progressions/recognition. With AI on the horizon, I have rolled out GitHub Copilot across the department and have built a community of learning supporting AI and other topics through Tech Talks, podcast-style sessions, blog posts, and recommendations, promoting knowledge sharing. I led technical planning for large-scale projects impacting multiple teams, using tools and visualizations to ensure successful project delivery. I worked with individual teams to identify and resolve throughput challenges, adopting better processes. Additionally, I managed projects impacting the engineering department, including training, documentation, and Agile process implementation, and assisted with cost management for cloud and engineering tools. Collaborating with finance and engineering teams, I enhanced and automated R&D and CapEx/OpEx reporting.

I am a Staff Engineer with over 10+ years of experience in software engineering, now transitioning towards management. I consider myself a \"right-hand\" arch-type Staff Engineer, dedicated to solving challenges related to people, culture, and aligning business goals with development teams.My role as a staff engineer is to act as the glue between business objectives and development execution. I use my technical skills to support architects and tackle development challenges, while working closely with management to ensure everything stays aligned.I am passionate about building strong team cultures.
