Managed a Team of three Cover Supervisors to ensure the appropriate deployment when teaching staff/librarians are absent to ensure they are effectively deployed during their hours of work.• Responsible for the management of the cover database for all day-to-day scheduling of cover including the distribution of work set by absent staff.• Liaised and built strong relationships with supply agencies for extra provision only when necessary.• Covered lessons when all cover staff utilised. This followed six months as a Cover Supervisor in another school.• Liaised with Heads of Department to carry out subject specific displays to ensure up to date departmental and communal displays around the school and to support with administrative tasks.Managed departmental budget within school guidelines and within budget.

A highly skilled, reliable and versatile team manager and member with nearly 40 years experience in the Royal Navy, Voluntary Youth Sector and Education. Experienced in recruitment, mentoring, careers advice, administration, budgets and HR, now in KS3 and 4 education. Possesses a proven ability in managing diverse teams in a variety of environments. With excellent communication skills, has filled a variety of management roles, achieving and maintaining high standards, often in testing situations. Always seeking to develop and build on existing skills.Having completed the Ex-Military Internship with Reed Global went onto become a Recruitment Consultant with Berry on the Transport Desk, however felt that sales is not for him. Started second career in education, initially as a Teaching Assistant, then Cover Supervisor and now as Teaching Support Manager. I have bought many students to their full potential. Maintained managerial experience previously in the voluntary role as Commanding Officer of Maidstone, then Gravesend Sea Cadets. Currently Commanding Officer setting up a Unit at the Malling School, whilst part of the Training Team within West Kent District Sea Cadets. However retiring from this post at the end of May 2025.
