Reduction of crashes and saving lives remains a top priority of the Federal Government Department of Transportation. States through their criminal justice partners have the responsibility of supporting that goal and ensuring the federal regulations they adopt are enforced. These regulations should be recognized as tools to accomplish safety on our highways and are not merely opinions by those holding CDLs or those who have the duty to make sure that convictions are properly recorded. Judicial Ambassadors have been added to the team of judicial educators at the National Judicial College to assist the states by updating state contact information in addition to providing them with current educational opportunities that will be helpful to their courts. I am proud to serve as a Judicial Ambassador and remain committed to assisting our courts in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to contact me with anything you may need regarding education both at the college or your home states if need be.
