ABOUT GARY EWINS

Chartered Engineering professional with a wide range of Operations and Change Management experience across many industrial sectors- Respected Senior Operations and Technical Leader with a proven track record- I am well versed in challenging traditional thinking (“if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!”). I have been trained by Shingijutsu in Japan and became the European Lean promotions manager for both Danaher and Pentair Corporations. An expert in Value Stream Mapping, enabling teams to understand and agree ‘where they are today’ in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance in the customers’ eyes. The teams become enlightened of the waste and variation in the processes, with numerous opportunities being exposed. By leading them through this journey, I help teams to create a vision for the future and a map showing ‘where they want to get to tomorrow’. Layouts and factories are then successfully changed in line with these future state visions. For example, B&W Loudspeakers Ltd. received a commendation from the Factory of the Year awards after I helped them to transform their operation- Having successfully run my own consultancy, I have gained the necessary business acumen and understanding of the Voice Of the Customer- I have led well over a 200 kaizen events, where significant changes have yielded quick wins and sustained benefit- Certified Operational Six Sigma Black Belt (trained by BSI).Specialties: Operations and Engineering Leadership, Lean Thinking, Toyota Production System, Project Management, NPI and Concurrent Engineering, VSM, Standard Work, One-piece flow, Cellular manufacturing, 5S and Visual Management, Kanban, TPM, FMEA, SMED, DFM/DFA, Problem Solving techniques and Six Sigma.German speaker - able to train and facilitate in the German language
