SKILLS
ABOUT GARY BIRNIE
I design services that change behaviour — combining service design, behavioural science, and academic research to create digital health products that actually work for people. My career has been built at the intersection of service design and behavioural science. I\'ve applied that combination to national NHS platforms, AI-powered health assessments, and financial services — always working across the full service journey, from discovery and co-design through to prototyping and delivery. I\'m currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Stirling, researching inequalities in outdoor physical activity across Scotland — exploring what stops underrepresented groups from accessing green spaces, and what we can do about it. I also serve on the board of the Scottish Sports Association, run ultra marathons, and coach U15 goalkeepers. I don\'t just study physical activity — I live it.
