About Gary A. Gardner

Previously, Gary was a Senior Equity Partner in the New York office of Wilson, Elser and was Chairman of the Aviation Practice Group. He has extensive experience in the areas of aviation, maritime, products liability, intellectual property, exposure, commercial, general liability, premises liability, construction, labor law and insurance law. He handled the full range of commercial matters for domestic and foreign clients in diverse industries. He also represents insurance carriers on both the claims and underwriting side, with particular emphasis in complex aviation, marine, transportation and energy matters. Gary has extensive trial experience and has litigated, mediated and arbitrated numerous domestic and international matters.As a Navy pilot, Gary was captain of a P-3C Orion Aircraft, and had command responsibility for a 12-man crew. He accumulated more than hours of total flight time. During his military career he received a Meritorious Unit Commendation for disrupting maritime smuggling of marijuana and cocaine into the United States, and a Coast Guard Unit Commendation for his efforts in the search and recovery operations of the space shuttle Challenger.
