ABOUT GARRY STEWART

As a director of Recognize Black Heritage and Culture CIC, Windrush Caribbean Film Festival CIC, Black Heritage Walks Network CIC, I have over 20 years of experience in organizing and delivering events, projects, and campaigns that celebrate and educate people about the contributions and experiences of the African Caribbean community in the UK and beyond. I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and hold a BA in Black Studies from Birmingham City University. My core competencies include social networking, marketing communications, and new business development, which I leverage to build strategic partnerships, raise funds, and increase the reach and impact of the initiatives I lead or support. I am passionate about promoting positive diversity, empowering the Black community, and challenging stereotypes and inequalities through creative and cultural mediums. I work with a range of partners, such as The Voice, The Birmingham Mail, New Style Radio, Royal Air Force Museum, The Drum, Voices of War and Peace, and Birmingham Museums & Art Gallery, to amplify the positive messages and stories that Recognize and its affiliates seek to share with wider society.
