First and foremost, I love technology. I actually stumbled into the tech industry by accident—I was attending university for Music Composition when I took an entry-level IT job to pay the bills. To my surprise, I found I loved the problem-solving and technical challenges even more than my chosen major. That moment changed my career path.While I started in general IT, I really found my stride in cybersecurity. I accepted a Security Analyst role without realizing it would ignite a genuine passion for the field. From there, I dove in headfirst—earning my Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance in 2022, followed by my CISSP certification later that same year.Since then, I’ve worked as a Security Engineer and Security Architect, designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions for businesses of all sizes. My work has spanned everything from endpoint protection and identity management to cloud security, compliance, and architecture hardening. I\'ve helped small businesses build their first security programs and supported large organizations through audits, transitions, and high-risk environments.Today, I work as a Cybersecurity Engineer at Alaska Airlines, helping protect aviation systems and critical infrastructure in a highly regulated, safety-first environment. Alongside my full-time role, I run my own cybersecurity consulting firm—Neon Shield Security, based in East Idaho—where my mission is simple: help organizations proactively defend their data, reduce risk, and make informed decisions about their digital environments.Whether it\'s securing an M365 tenant, engineering Zero Trust architecture, or guiding a business through compliance, I bring a hands-on, risk-driven approach to every engagement.Outside of tech, I’m still deeply connected to my creative roots. I’m a pianist, composer, and aspiring novelist currently working on several music projects and a post-apocalyptic novel. Even when the workday ends, I’m always looking for ways to use creativity, curiosity, and innovation to improve the world around me.
