About Garrett Watson
As Director of Policy Analysis at Tax Foundation, I research, communicate, and conduct modeling on federal tax issues for policymakers, the media, and taxpayers. My interests include business tax issues and improving the tax system for low-income households.I manage Tax Foundation\'s federal modeling work. This involves developing, maintaining, and using our general equilibrium tax model to analyze the impact of tax proposals on federal revenue, the economy, and the distribution of incomes. I also participate in interviews and presentations to educate and inform the public on federal tax policy. Before joining Tax Foundation, I was a program manager at the R Street Institute, where I worked on policy questions related to income mobility, economic opportunity, and labor markets. I also have experience in coordinating research teams and grant opportunities in higher education at the Charles Koch Foundation. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Philosophy, with a Mathematics minor, from St. Lawrence University.
