In my current role at Polyvlies USA, I manage sales and purchasing for the company’s only North American manufacturing facility located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Polyvlies is an industry leading manufacturer of nonwovens and technical textiles for a wide range of applications. These include the automotive industry, construction industry, agriculture and home textiles sectors. Our team is built-up of more than 500 employees in Germany, France, and the United States with four production sites.Polyvlies USA established the Winston-Salem manufacturing facility in 2014 and began operations on its first needle-punched nonwoven line early the following year. Due to the company being relatively new to the North American marketplace, I have been tasked with developing and executing sales strategies aimed at achieving steady and sustainable growth. Since starting with the company, Polyvlies USA has invested and erected an additional manufacturing line enabling us to double our output and keep up with customer demand.Additional Sales Responsibilities- Prospecting clients- Product presentations- Contract negotiations- Market research- Report generation In addition to sales, I oversee Polyvlies USA’s purchasing department where we are charged with sourcing all of the company’s raw material inputs for manufacturing. This position requires considerable organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills to effectively manage our global supply base. The COVID-19 pandemic, and the ensuing shortages and commodity price disruptions has made the international purchasing landscape extremely challenging. It has required a strong working relationship with our suppliers to ensure raw material availability and avoid logistical issues plaguing businesses across the globe.Additional Purchasing Responsibilities- Evaluate potential vendors- RFQ’s- Database creation & maintenance- Quality management- Inventory control
