   Recognized as subject matter technical expert for design, materials, manufacturing processes, and problem structural issues resolution. Ongoing project team interface with PMO, R&D, Technical Communications, Human Factors, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, OEM vendors and suppliers. Responsible to set specifications, guidelines, identify root causes and drive initial designs and corrective actions related to package design and improvements. Previous certifications as Certified Packaging Engineer (CPE) and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). Extensive experience with ASTM, ISTA and Tappi testing protocols in developing, integrity testing and working knowledge of 21CFR Part 820, ISO 11607 and 13485 procedures. Specialties: • Gather and translate insights into potential strategic packaging opportunities. • Develop and drive business cases for packaging design, costing and timelines. • Effectively communicate and present the progress of initiatives and programs to stakeholders. • Accountable for packaging cost drivers, overall cost of ownership, timeline, risk management, compliance and ongoing cost improvement for all Diabetes products. • Create package test plans protocols, monitors testing, and interprets data to insure package integrity throughout product lifecycle. • Develop and implement strategies for new packaging designs, processes, material selection • Review and approve packaging design changes, including labeling specifications, labels and packaging content changes. • Create, review and update packaging specifications for manufacturing locations in US, Puerto Rico, EU and China facilities. • Collaborate with vendors to develop recyclable and cost-efficient packaging components, materials and materials. • Support Regulatory compliance to labeling and environmental impact / source reduction of materials in prop 65, EU directives.
