ABOUT NICK GARRARD

I represent businesses on a variety of legal issues, including employment issues, business operations, compliance, and contract review and revisions. I also advise clients on transactional related matters involving the Uniform Commercial Code, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and Rental-Purchase Agreement Acts. I assist and advise on risk management issues, and assist client in implementing cost-effective processes to ensure maximum efficiency. I also manage local counsel in numerous states for my clients, and work closely with these attorneys to deliver timely and efficient results. My business practice involves protecting the interests of creditor clients in bankruptcy actions, by ensuring appropriate scheduling and treatment of clients\' property and by filing motions or objections, if necessary. I stay up-to-date on changes in state and federal statues and case law which impact clients\' businesses, and advise them of new strategies for the efficient handling of claims in bankruptcy cases.Additionally, my litigation practice includes insurance defense, workers\' compensation defense, general negligence defense, and appeals. As an appellate attorney, I have prepared briefs and successfully represented clients on matters before the appellate courts in Mississippi.I am admitted to practice in Mississippi, Texas, and North Carolina, as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Fifth Circuits. I am AV-Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, and my office is located in Jackson, Mississippi.
