ABOUT GARLAND PREDDY

I am a retired Director of Education and Training for the Society of Government Meeting Professionals. I am using my 45 years as a special events professional to teach others ~ particularly the unique nature of doing special events for the Federal Government. I was part of the team working with the Grad School, USDA, that developed the Certification for Government Meeting Professionals class and taught the preparatory class for 18 years. I am often requested to teach ethics and other topics to SGMP chapters, hotels, CVBs, and at hospitality industry events.I taught Meetings and Conferences for the George Washington University Event Management program for over 20 years. I served as an adjunct professor at George Mason University in the School of Hospitality and Tourism. I was recently named by Smart Meetings 100 Smart Women in Meetings for 2021Expertise: teaching contracts and negotiations and ethics.
