ABOUT GARI ZAWAIRA

Garidzanayi G Zawaira Project Manager Electrical Engineer Work experience: Garidzanayi is a robust, innovative and enterprising engineering professional who has vast experience in project management, maintenance management, engineering planning, and organisational development. He has worked for big Electrical Manufacturing company (South Wales Electrical now known as Hawker Siddeley) and has been exposed to manufacture of Transformers, Switchgear and Electric Motors. He has operated at senior management level (Engineering Manager) and was involved in the Hwange Power Station generators 7 and 8. He believes in a quality centred organisation having participated in ISO certification for several organisations. He graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in June with a BSc in Electrical Engineering. He started his career at (A electrical subcontracting firm) as a Graduate Engineer and was promoted to Engineer in 2002. He moved to Hawker Siddely in 2003 as Contracts Engineer for Sales and Marketing Department.in 2007 he moved to Botswana where he joined Powercom Electrical as Senior Project Manager. Where he managed the tendering and contracts department and grow the projects portfolio from US$500 to US$2 million within a year. He moved to Namibia in 2013 where he joined the Government of Namibia in the Ministry of Works as Chief Engineer. He stayed there for 5 Years then moved back to Zimbabwe where is joined ZAIDG (An Electrical Consulting Company) which has done works with Hatch SA as the Zimbabwe representative till to date. Projects undertaken: He has worked on various projects from conception to commissioning including NSSA Phase1 & 2 High rising buildings. Manufacture of Transformers up to 2MVA and associated switchgear. Several Namibian government projects of note Hosiah Kutako Airport expansion, Omuthiya Police Station, and General refurbishments of Government Hospitals and Clinics. In Botswana he worked on several Botswana Power Corporation (Utility) Power Lines and Substation projects. Also subcontracted in the Orapa and Jwaneng Mines and many more. Education: Garidzanayi holds a Bsc (Hons) Electrical Engineering (UZ), an Institute of Marketing Management certificate (Part 1) –Speciss college. He is trained in ISO 9001/14001 Integrated Management System. He is a registered member of Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibian professional Bodies.
