WORK HISTORY
CTO @CloudPay
Becoming CTO meant stepping away from hands-on Java development and adding the IT team to my line management responsibilities. The other big new role for me has been compliance. I have learnt a huge amount from our team as we have improved our ISO27001 and SOC1 standings as well as during our preparation to meet the introduction of GDPR. However I have kept my role as integration architect and have had experience of integrations or partnerships across a range of names. I am personally involved in all of our partnerships in the industry and with many customer integrations. I have administrator-level responsibilities across all internal systems and have personally integrated many company systems together, sometimes using my Dell Boomi knowledge. Systems I have admin access to or have worked with at API level include Netsuite, GSuite, Atlassian Cloud, Sisense, Sage People, Zendesk, Bitbucket, Slack, Alfresco as well as many Payroll applications. In the autumn of 2017 I realised that our development processes could no longer cope with our growing team sizes and had the idea to bring in an Agile Management consultancy for their opinion on how to proceed. From that we embarked on an Agile Transformation during 2018. This started with hiring an entire UK test team to bring in two amazing Agile Consultants, one in the UK and one in Singapore. It would be fair to say that 2018 was a fantastic year of change and improvement by all in the Product and Engineering teams.
