ABOUT GARETH OWEN
Gareth Owen is currently a Professor in Sustainable Chemistry covering topics such as Fundamental Inorganic, Coordination Chem, Organometallics, Homogeneous Catalysis, Bioinorganic, Symmetry and Group Theory, Spectroscopy and Analytical. Dr. Owen is an experience researcher and has obtained several research grants and independent research fellowships publishing 46 research articles. His research is focused on many aspects of sustainable chemistry in areas of Carbon Dioxide transformations and hydrogen storage. He has expertise in inorganic chemistry including organometallics and catalysis. During his research career, he has developed new concepts of ‘ligand cooperation’ involving hydrogen atom shuttles and storage. By using this approach, he developed an unprecedented mode of Lewis acid mediated H2 activation and further demonstrated its catalytic potential.
