Hired as a full-time Frontend Engineer within the VOA division of HMRC to help spearhead the development of a cutting-edge geospatial mapping product. Collaborating closely with the team, I played a key role in building the frontend architecture, utilising a range of modern frontend tools and technologies, with a strong focus on JavaScript. By adhering to industry best practices and design principles, we developed a flexible and efficient frontend that enabled seamless integration of geospatial data using ESRI software.From the ground up, I developed a robust automated testing framework using Selenium, SpecFlow, and C#. This system has been instrumental in ensuring the reliability and stability of the product throughout its lifecycle, providing comprehensive test coverage and supporting continuous integration.Leveraging SOLID, DRY, and modular design patterns, I enhanced code quality and ensured long-term stability. By strategically refactoring the code where necessary, I optimised performance and scalability. As a senior engineer, I have taken on leadership responsibilities, mentoring junior engineers and conducting technical interviews for new positions. My focus on continuous improvement extended to identifying and resolving critical issues to guarantee an optimal user experience, driving product performance to new levels.
