As a PYP Homeroom teacher, I facilitate teaching and learning that focuses on the development of the whole child instilling international-mindedness. While adopting the constructivist approach, I ensure that students strive to make meaning of their lives and the world around them. Evaluating and communicating student progress and liaising with parents to discuss individual student needs. I am involved in curriculum planning and assessment designing that takes into consideration the prior knowledge before implementing the taught curriculum. I advocate transdisciplinary learning integrated with the Unit of Inquiry, Math, and Literacy. Employing math and writer’s workshops, 6+1 traits, and other such center-based learning models helps in enabling differentiation and student agency. I was a Grade level leader from 2014-15: I Encouraged, motivated, and collaborated with the team to plan the curriculum and day-to-day activities including hands-on learning, formative and summative assessments.I participated in the “Teacher Teach Teachers” in 2016 to Facilitate a workshop on “Transdisciplinary Learning through Literacy Stations”. Also, headed the book study group in 2015 on “Where Great Teaching Begins:Planning for Student Thinking and Learning”
