As a tax attorney in the newly-created Litigation & Advisory group, I handle tax litigation in the U.S. Tax Court on behalf of the United States. I also provide counsel to the IRS during their examination audits of large and multinational taxpayers.Before the IRS, I was a Senior Associate at Ernst & Young in the International Tax & Transactions group. I advised multinational corporations on their tax planning transactions. This included helping clients divest from underperforming markets, effectuating spin-transactions, and more through structuring these transactions in step plans and writing memoranda summarizing the tax consequences of such transactions. I also performed tax due diligence throughout my clients’ acquisition transactions by reviewing the target’s tax documents and identifying any tax exposures.
