The program is a collaboration between Akron Urban League and the Western Reserve Community Fundproviding financial and technical assistance to minority, women, LGBTQ+, Veterans, and Disabled-owned businesses in the construction trades in the City of Akron and Summit County. Originally a 2-year program, it was renewed due to success of the program. Carries a budget of Leader and visionary of a construction/trades-focused program, including: program plan, timelines, resources needed and key milestones. Executed program plan which vetted and selected 26 participants, securing 477 new contracts and generated $10.5+ million in revenue. • Led continuous improvement initiatives within program, resulting in an average year over year business revenue gains of 297% for each of the 4 years of program operations. • Engage with key stakeholders (external vendors and partners) to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with program objectives; correcting and coaching as required. • Delivered regular program status reports to leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.• Provide enablement support through leads and networking; creating exposure to major local construction companies in NE Ohio.• Establish strong relationships and drive cross-functional collaboration introducing participants to resources such as local accounting firms, legal firms, marketing organizations, and other professional service providers. Create training classes for participants.• Coach participants on best practices, including use of business management and communication tools and technologies to pursue local construction project opportunities; enhancing participant and program success.
