ABOUT GAIL J. COHEN
An award-winning journalist in daily and business news for almost 30 years, Gail predominantly works in the legal space. She is currently an editor with Reuters professional news team and the Canada Correspondent for online publication Law.com International. She writes for a variety of other publications and organizations as well as providing strategic communications consulting to a number of non-profit groups. In 2017, she became the first journalist in residence at Toronto’s Osgoode Hall Law School, researching and writing on LGBTQ equality rights in Canada. Prior to that, Gail was the long-time editor in chief of the most comprehensive group of publications and digital products covering the law in Canada, including Canadian Lawyer, Law Times, InHouse, and 4Students as well as the daily Legal Feeds blog and FindLaw.ca. She has also been instrumental in the design and launch of multiple magazines, websites and digital media strategies. With Gail at the helm, she and her publications won many journalism and design awards including numerous KRW awards from the Canadian Business Press as well as a Jesse H. Neal award from the American Business Press. In 2017, Gail branched out into the apparel industry, launching Run Little Monkey, designing and creating a unique, fun line of bamboo-based activewear for women. She has been deeply involved in the entrepreneurial eco-system and was part of the first cohort of York University’s woman-focused business accelerator ELLA as well as the Further, Faster Business Training Program of Georgian College’s Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre.
