About Michael Gagnon

Michael is an Information Technology Executive with over 35 years experience in diverse environments including healthcare, defense and academic settings. Mr. Gagnon has been successful in involving academic, administrative and clinical stakeholders, both inside the institution and within a broad geographic region, in the strategic planning and implementation of complex health care IT solutions. He has a proven record of successful project conception, system design, management and completion. Michael is currently the Executive Director for HealtHIE Nevada, the state-wide Health Information Exchange for Nevada.He was previously the Chief Technology Officer for Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) which is the state designated Health Information Exchange (HIE) in Vermont. In this role he was responsible for the overall architecture and new technology and business services. Before working for VITL Michael was the president of Health Information Exchange Partners, LLC, a private healthcare technology consulting firm with a focus in Health Information Exchange system architectures, strategic planning, technical assessments, privacy and security, vendor selection and implementation management for healthcare organizations.Michael was a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer for Patient Engagement Systems, Inc, a developer of clinical decision support systems which manage information on chronically ill patients.
