ABOUT GAETANO ARENA

I\'m a materials engineer and technical innovator with a decade of experience turning complex science into things that actually get built. My foundation is in aerospace: PhD in Aerospace Engineering, EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellowship, several scientific publications and filed patents (Rolls-Royce and Airbus), and 6 years at Rolls-Royce working on the industrialisation of advanced composite materials. I\'ve led technology programmes from early-stage research through to manufacturing investment decisions — the full arc from idea to commitment. What I find most interesting is the space where deep technical work meets strategic and commercial judgement. I\'ve supported investors and startups as an engineering advisor at organisations including the Science Angel Syndicate and Creator Fund — doing technical due diligence on live deals and writing investment memos for university spin-outs — because understanding how technology creates value is just as important to me as understanding how it works. High-performance innovation doesn\'t happen through technical skill alone. Over the years I\'ve come to see that the quality of decisions — especially in high-stakes, complex environments — depends as much on the clarity and leadership of the people making them as on the data in front of them. That conviction led me to pursue several qualifications in human performance and leadership practices, including yoga teaching, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Transcendental Meditation teacher training, and consciousness-based advising. I draw on these to support professionals and teams operating at the edge of what\'s possible.
