ABOUT GAELEN STEJBACH

Dedicated, compassionate New York State LCSW who implements a trauma informed and person-centered approach to clinical practice. Experienced in working in inpatient psychiatry, private practice, and community mental health. Trained in Psychodynamic approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Psychoeducation. Presently furthering knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions psychoanalytically. SIFI certified and also a certified ASIST trainer.Experienced in working with individuals ranging from young adults to late adulthood and individuals living with SPMI, substance use, and a variety of medical diagnoses. In addition, experienced in leadership positions and providing clinical supervision to other licensed social workers, social work students, and CASACs. Skilled in clinical supervision, crisis intervention, biopsychosocial assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, community outreach, and navigating a variety of systems. Demonstrates exceptional computer abilities and time management skills. Experienced in utilizing PSYCKES, CARES, EPIC, Cerner, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. As a former Division I collegiate athlete, additional areas of interest include working with athletes with a focus on mental health, wellness, and sports performance, in addition to mental health/psychiatric program development.
