My name is Gabrielle Marino, a recent Social Work graduate. My philosophy for the helping profession is to treat everyone unless I’m providing person centered care. The foundation of social work as a profession & passion reflects my character as an advocate by ensuring equal access to all through education and providing needed resources.I am dedicated to this field because of my ethical duty to advocate for the human right to equal treatment & quality care. During my childhood as a Girlscout, I volunteered my time to service my local community & dedicate my efforts to being an agent of change. I have supported & advocated for youth & older adults through coaching & case management for an enhanced quality of life. I have served older adults for 5+ years through my experience with hospice care where I received a service award for my outstanding accomplishments with our patients & families.I have also enjoyed coaching within various organizations serving all communities, backgrounds, & age groups to recognize healthy habits & establish realistic goals. As a coach, I facilitated groups & discussed developmentally appropriate material while integrating physical activity as an outlet for spiritual & emotional health. I am now on a mission to change lives & uphold equal access to high-quality care for youth, older adults, & their caregivers.Career Highlights: Completed social assessments for initial & re-evaluation of students’ needs for special education services by participating as a member on the child study team.Conducted initial patient assessments to determine the severity & necessary level of care while collaborating with interdisciplinary team. Providing individual & group facilitated coaching services to youth & young adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities & behavioral/emotional challenges. Facilitated group activities at an after-school program for youth to feel socially & emotionally supported while sharing their feelings and concerns.I am seeking a position with an opportunity to grow & be challenged while expanding & transferring my skills throughout the field. I strongly resonate with agencies that are client-focused in their mission to change lives & uphold equal access to high-quality care as we continue to face inequities in our healthcare system.
