ABOUT GABRIELLA PAZOS
I am a psychology student and Behavioural Interventionist with hands-on experience supporting children in pediatric and developmental settings. I work alongside Behaviour Consultants, Certified Child Life Specialists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists to provide individualized, child-centred care.My work focuses on understanding how children regulate, communicate, and engage with their environment, particularly in the context of developmental differences and emotional needs. I integrate principles from Applied Behaviour Analysis with developmental and play-based approaches, including DIR/Floortime-informed strategies and trauma-aware, relationship-centred care. I prioritize attunement, co-regulation, and strengths-based support, while also collaborating closely with caregivers.Through my experience in hospital and community settings, I have developed strong skills in therapeutic play, emotional support, behavioural observation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. These roles have strengthened my ability to apply psychological theory in real-world settings while maintaining ethical, reflective, and child-centred practice.I am particularly interested in child mental health, neurodevelopment, attachment, and early intervention. I am currently continuing to build experience in both clinical and research settings, with the goal of becoming a Child Life Specialist and supporting children and families through meaningful, developmentally appropriate care.
