I started working at Springwest Academy two months into my teacher training with Teach First as part of the Autumn Institute 2025 cohort. Alongside studying for my PGCE with Bath Spa university and QTS with Teach First I run the music department at the school. In my first half term I conducted the school show, recorded the school anthem, and took students to perform Carols in the local community. Civic Champion mug winner! ABOUT GABRIELLA BELLENES
I’m a Teach First trainee music teacher with deep roots in performance and communication, and a fierce belief that every child deserves access to powerful, life‑changing music education. My work is grounded in inclusion, clarity and high expectations, especially for pupils with SEND, EAL and those facing disadvantage.Before teaching, I worked internationally as an opera singer — experiences that shaped how I collaborate, communicate and adapt quickly in high‑pressure environments. In the classroom, I’m building strong foundations in curriculum design, assessment, behaviour systems and inclusive practice, and I’m proud of the positive impact this is having on students’ learning, confidence and sense of belonging.I enjoy creating resources that are practical, clear and rooted in real classroom needs. Every lesson is built on respect, kindness and a genuine passion for my subject, with the hope that students find both joy and meaning in music, and learn bravely.Music transforms lives.Love is kind.
