Responsibilities includes to evaluate, diagnose, and administer therapeutic treatments for cognitive-linguistic, motor speech, fluency, voice, and/or swallowing disorders related to neurological based disorders and traumatic brain injuries as deemed appropriate by presently accepted professional standards. Perform and interpret videofluroscopic swallow studies to introduce compensatory strategies to determine its effectiveness in promoting safer swallow function. Oversee speech/swallow orders from Acute Care, Neuro/Cardio Intensive Units, and Intensive Rehabilitation Unit. Provide appropriate counseling and education to patients, family members/caregivers of ongoing assessments and carryover of plan of care. Attend to patient care staffing meetings, interdisciplinary conferences, and other related meetings to discuss patients’ goals outcomes and progress.
