About Gabriel Aun Klinger

Aerospace Structures Engineer with a strong focus on structural analysis, aerostructures, and multidisciplinary aircraft design and optimization (MDAO), working on the development of next-generation electrified aircraft.Currently a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Tech’s Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL), supporting the structural analysis and sizing of Blended Wing Body (BWB) aircraft configurations within advanced aircraft design and MDAO frameworks. In parallel, leading a NASA-sponsored project focused on electrified regional aircraft (19–150 passengers). The work involves computational modeling, system-level simulation, and parametric trade studies using FLOPS and NPSS, supporting data-driven evaluation of electrification strategies across multiple future technology horizons.Previous industry experience includes battery structural and thermal engineering for electric aircraft, with emphasis on structural integrity, manufacturability, electromechanical safety, and thermal runaway mitigation. Strong background in GD & T, DFA, DFM, DFMEA, FEA, modal analysis, and simulation automation.Key Results- Optimized the airframe and geometry of a Boeing 787-9 using ASDL’s EDS modeling and simulation environment, improving performance, economics, and emissions metrics by up to 15%- Designed aircraft battery containment components that reduced vent clogging during thermal runaway by 53.7%- Automated ANSYS thermal simulations for battery subpacks, achieving a 5× reduction in simulation runtime;
