1. Global Social Impact Fellow- Ai Strengthening Healthcare Access

   Our team created AISHA (Artificial Intelligence Strengthening Healthcare Access) to keep lifesaving clinical knowledge within reach for nurses and students in hospitals that often lack internet access, smart devices, or up-to-date textbooks.• Field-driven design: We spent three weeks on the wards of a regional hospital in Sierra Leone, shadowing nurses and doctors, running live pilots, and co-writing question banks and voice prompts that fit local protocols and resource limits.• Health-system partnerships: Close collaboration with hospital administrators, university nursing faculty, and ministry officials shaped AISHA’s content, workflow, and rollout roadmap.• Device & language access: To move Alexa, we’re building a low-cost unit that runs offline, no Amazon servers required, and translating the interface into Krio so every nurse can learn in their own language.• On-demand learning: Department-specific Q&A sets and quizzes let staff refresh essentials and help students prepare and review knowledge more efficiently.After seeing the impact first-hand, we entered and won the Davis Projects for Peace Prize, securing $10 to accelerate manufacturing, language support, and wider rollout. We’re turning ward feedback into a self-contained, locally voiced tool that keeps critical knowledge within reach, anytime, anywhere.
