About Gabriela Duran
Gabriela Duran has more than 15 years of experience working in healthcare and health communication including program implementation and research. With her significant experience with government communication and social marketing campaigns and expertise in behavioral change interventions, she provides counsel and tactical guidance to clients including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Defense Health Agency (DHA), and the FDA Center for Tobacco Products. As a member of the FHDC healthcare and crisis teams, Ms. Duran leads the CMS Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign providing strategic direction and managing overall communication support, training, content creation and materials development, social and paid media to support 38 awardees in their efforts to conduct outreach and enrollment for Medicaid and CHIP.With her public health background, Ms. Duran supports clients in their communication around a variety of issues including regulation, primary and secondary prevention efforts, and potential health outcomes for their products and initiatives.The expanse of her work has included health education and communication, social marketing, materials development, and curriculum and program development and implementation. Her campaign and program experience has spanned a broad range of issues such as tobacco use prevention and cessation, early childhood development, asthma, HIV/AIDS prevention, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), mental health, and risk prevention. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings and conducted outreach with diverse audiences including women, young mothers, Latino families, men who have sex with men (MSM), Latino MSM, children and adolescents, and African American communities.
