ABOUT GABRIEL VANEGAS

I have over 25 years experience working as an Electrical Engineer; I spent the first 10 years engineering hi-tech labs, hospitals, data centers, complex industrial power systems; including transportation and institutional projects. The following 10 years were of engineering the most advanced Utility Scale Renewable Power Generation Systems, CSP, PV and BESS. The last few years working on electrical utility industry with up to 500kV - 570MVA substation capital projects. In the beginning of my career, I started as an intern on transmission substations area with electrical Mexican utility company, CFE; worked as a facilities engineer for semiconductors facility, today known as Skyworks Solutions; worked for a regional MEP firm, engineering high tech labs in the Torrey Pines area. Thereafter worked for transnational multi-discipline firms; CH2M Hill (now Jacobs), TranSystems, and M+W Group, on the most advanced industrial systems for clean room semiconductor fabrication facilities, government and public transportation facilities; most of these projects in Arizona, Oregon, and California, a few in Utah and New Mexico. Later moved to the energy industry working for International EPC companies, Abengoa and First Solar engineering Utility Scale CSP and PV Plants; the largest Power Plants of its kind in the US at that time. Last few years I’ve been part of utility scale substations engineering team, designing, specifying, procuring, executing construction and commissioning up to 500kV rated equipment.I\'m a licensed Electrical Engineering.
