WORK HISTORY
Associate Software Engineer @TD
Toronto, ON, CA
As a Software Engineer, my main task is to implement new features and update existing features for TD\'s web application used by TD advisors. To accomplish this, I coordinate with my team of developers and quality engineers under direction from a lead developer, scrum master and product owner within an Agile environment.During my time at TD, I helped build many user interfaces for TD\'s Retail Investment Platform to allow the configuration of scheduled payment amounts. I also built the user interface forms for TD\'s Easy Apply Platform, enabling the addition of multiple beneficiaries and the plan type selection when setting up RESP accounts. I helped to trace and debug multiple issues, including UI inconsistencies and validation errors, ensuring that TD\'s platforms would continue running smoothly.
EDUCATION

ABOUT GABRIEL CHAN
Software Development is not just about writing code that works; writing code clean and easy to read can be just as important. When I write code, I always make sure to organize, tidy and document it. It is easy to forget that building applications is often a team effort. Documenting and tidying code helps collaborators save time that would have otherwise been spent interpreting and deciphering messy code.Welcome to my LinkedIn page. I am Software Developer skilled in both front and back end development. In my role as a Full Stack Developer, I helped develop BlueWave Labs\' HRM web application by designing the UI/UX components for the home and time off pages with my skills in React, JavaScript and web development. With my analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail, I was able to match the provided UI mockups and wireframes by about 95%. I also demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging software using developer tools like VS Code and in implementing and integrating the application\'s back end API using frameworks like Sequelize and Axios.I love to create and build. The main aspect of code that I appreciate is its modularity and how I am able to write code in small modules and then use these modules as building blocks to construct even bigger modules. When I build applications, I look for ways to simplify my code and make it easy to use and the modularity of code makes this process run smoothly. When working on group projects and collaborating with others, communication, planning and team cohesion are my priorities. When working with others, I like to hold group meetings on a regular basis to discuss, progress, goals and obstacles. Making sure everyone in my team is on the same page is essential to ensuring deadlines are met. As long as my team and I are coordinated and united, I believe there is no task that cannot be accomplished.I am always open to working with others. Feel free to reach out and connect if you would like my help.
