The Emerging Markets Institute (EMI) at Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business is a global research center focused on the role of emerging markets in the global economy. It brings together top scholars, policymakers, and business leaders to explore themes such as capital flows, innovation, and digital transformation in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and beyond. Conducting research on the economic relevance of emerging markets and their evolving role in global capital flows and financial innovation. Co-authored a forthcoming book on Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) in collaboration with Dr. Lourdes Casanova, the Gail and Roberto Cañizares Director of EMI, and Dr. Mark Mobius, a pioneer in emerging markets investing, former Executive Chairman of Templeton Emerging Markets Group (+US$50 billion AUM), and founder of Mobius Investments. Wrote the book’s technical sections, covering distributed ledger systems, blockchain architectures, and programmable money infrastructure. Used platforms such as S&P Capital IQ to analyze corporate strategy shifts, capital markets trends, and institutional investment flows across emerging economies.
