ABOUT GABRIEL BAUDARD
I am an Associate Economist at Savills, within the Planning Economics team, working on planning, economic and development consultancy projects. I focus primarily in the preparation of evidence-base documents supporting planning application, most notably Socio-Economic Chapters of Environmental Statement, Economic Impact Statements and Social Infrastructure Needs Assessment. I am also frequently involved in the preparation of Funding Bids (Levelling-Up Fund, Brownfield Housing Fund), economic development research projects (Employment and Housing Growth; Life Science, Logistics and Maritime industrial cluster analysis), and property market assessments (office and hotel).I previously graduated from the Dual Degree in Urban Policy between Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics. In 2018-19 I was in London, studying the LSE\'s MSc. Regional and Urban Planning Studies programme. I spent the previous academic year in Sciences Po Paris, where I studied the Master Stratégie Territoriales et Urbaines. Within the field of urban studies, I am most particularly interested in sustainable urban development, regeneration projects, and questions of mobility. My Master\'s Thesis analysed how the governance structure of the Lyon Confluence urban regeneration project influenced sustainable cities initiatives undertaken within the project. In 2017 I graduated from McGill\'s Desautels Faculty of Management in Montréal with a Bachelor of Commerce, studying International Business and Global Strategic Management. During my second year, I spent a semester abroad in Madrid, which allowed me to develop my Spanish speaking and writing skills. Before moving to Montréal for my undergraduate studies, I had lived three years in Taiwan during high school, studying for the International Baccalaureate diploma.
