My prior experience with the federal government informs the counsel that I provide clients, which is rooted in an understanding of the law, but also how government regulators are likely to approach potential noncompliance. Similarly, my previous work at a health care provider guides my understanding of the many legal and business issues facing our clients, and the importance of working efficiently and effectively toward a solution. I regularly assist clients on a variety of matters, including:• Regulatory matters related to Medicare reimbursement and enrollment involving hospitals, physicians, ancillary suppliers, post-acute providers, and non-provider entities;• Transactional matters involving mergers/acquisitions of hospitals and other health care providers, including deals with private equity or RWI involvement; • Health care licensure matters necessitating regulatory filings as a result of transactions, legal name changes, director or officer changes, or new service lines;• Compliance matters related to Medicare and Medicaid, such as billing/ payment, telehealth/ telemedicine, price transparency, and regulatory changes implemented through CMS rulemaking; and• Fraud and abuse matters, including sophisticated analyses of arrangements that implicate the Stark Law, Civil Monetary Penalties Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and related state laws.
