ABOUT GABE DONALDSON

As a strategy-driven Leader with a strong and consistent track record of success in helping companies to achieve their goals, I understand the importance of results. I am an award-winning entrepreneur with deep experience driving profitability in multiple fields (e.g, conservation, finance, risk management) by overseeing world-class operations and spearheading strategic project and program delivery in complex landscapes. I excel at leading organizations, initiatives, and people in numerous high-risk spaces, with a special passion or social justice. In addition, I have served as an influential member of several national committees and sub-committees, and I was the primary architect of multiple boards of directors. I revel in the challenge of accomplishing goals where process-related challenges threaten to negatively impact the organization’s bottom line. I am also a passionate contributor with a laser-focus on exceeding organization expectations. During my career, I successfully led a chief development officer and a chief technology officer at Borderlands Fire Initiative in multiple design, fundraising, and marketing projects. In addition, I boosted company donations 90% YOY and YTD at The Ember Alliance by developing a winning business management strategy. A few of my recent successes include: I have garnered multiple accolades for my demonstrated leadership skills, including the national “You Rock!” Fire Management Award for exemplary conservation leadership with The Nature Conservancy. I quickly scaled the Borderlands Fire Initiative, which I launched in 2018, to employ a full-time chief development officer and a part-time chief technology officer. I also consulted with a Doctor of Developmental Economics on seeking grants and other types of funding. I maintained a higher-than-expected retention rate at The Executive Directors Council for The Ember Alliance Board during the COVID pandemic, averaging 80% FTE employees retained. All in all, I have earned a reputation as a results-oriented leader.
