ABOUT GABBI DESYLLAS
I completed my Masters of Commerce degree (where I focused on understanding the sports consumer) while simultaneously working at Ipsos, a market research house. Although I was capable of analysing data as a Research Executive, my passion lied in events management, so I decided to focus on pursuing a career in that direction and joined Octagon – a sports marketing agency. I gained invaluable, hands-on experience in very fast-paced environments while working on-site across large projects that include the UEFA Champions League Final, The Open Championship and the Rugby World Cup. After a few years, I was fortunate enough to work in the Strategy and Research department of Octagon – where I was involved in strategic tasks with the maintenance of clients’ sponsorship portfolios and also working at events – mainly through overseeing that projects were delivered to spec. I am now at the stage of my career, where I would like to focus on my core strengths – project planning and execution and look at gaining experience working on different types of projects in various industries.
