About G. Thomas Farmer

Dr. Farmer is the author of four books, the latest of which is Volume 1 of the textbook \"Climate Change Science: A Modern Synthesis\" published by Springer Publishers. He is currently working on Volume 2,\"The Earth\'s Climate History\" and a \"bridge\" document. He is a former professor at James Madison University in Virginia where he started the geology curriculum writing requirements for the degree and teaching most of the courses including Physical and Historical Geology, Regional Geology, Field Geology, Mineralogy, Petrology, Stratigraphy, Paleontology, and a year course in General Geology. He also taught physics and ecology. He was an environmental scientist working on the Environmental Restoration Program at the Mound Plant (a CERCLA site) in Ohio; the Kansas City Plant in Missouri; and the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. He has work experience in CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, and has done consulting work for DoD, DoE, EPA, NIH, and local and state agencies as well as private clients including several energy companies from Virginia to California. He was the senior geologist and coauthored the EPA Final Report on the groundwater monitoring system at Love Canal, Niagara Falls, New York. He is currently president of an environmental consulting firm (Farmer Enterprises) in Las Cruces, NM.
